Academic Program

Valencia is proud of its recognition as a California Distinguished School since 1992. Our Academic Program has expanded in new directions as we strive to prepare students for success in the global and technological marketplaces of tomorrow. New ventures such as the Val Tech Program and International Baccalaureate Program offer students a rigorous and intensive four-year curriculum that will open doorways to exciting opportunities after high school graduation.

In addition to these new offerings, Valencia continues its 70-year commitment to academic excellence. Our well-rounded curriculum in math, language arts, health, science, physical education and social studies is based on the California State Content Standards. Beyond these core curricular areas, VHS offers numerous elective courses in business and technology, foreign language, and industrial arts. We are also home to an award-winning visual and performing arts department, which provides students access to some of the finest programs in the district.

In March of 2010, VHS completed the WASC Focus on Learning self study. The report is here.
