Campus Safety
Valencia conducts a Fire, Earthquake/Disaster Drill, and Critical Incident Drill each semester. Fire drills are
indicated by a series of five short rings of the bell. "All Clear" for the fire drill is one long ring.
The drill is the same for the earthquake/disaster drill with the addition of the "duck and cover" at the beginning
of the drill. The Critical Incident Drill is used in the event it is necessary to lockdown the campus because of a
situation that could cause harm to students and staff. An announcement of "STUDENT SAFETY PLAN IS IN EFFECT"
is the signal for students and staff to follow specificprocedures.
