Please provide evidence of complete of either the Abrego or Everfi Financial Futures Student Scholarship Contest (requires completing the Everfi Tax Sim). A different scholarship may be submitted if approved by Mr. Rau.

You must attach a copy of the Budgeting Assignment and either a completed Google Sheets template or screenshot of a digital budget from your baking application. 

See direction on the assignment. Make sure your final submission includes your total amount spent, breakdown of your spending, and the pie chart to visually reflect your spending. 

On a separate document, in complete sentences and with correct grammar, please answer the following reflection questions. Each should be ~1 paragraph in length. 

1) Provide me one word to describe semester one and explain. How did the semester go overall?
2) What was a significant accomplishment you had during the semester (ex. something you are proud of). This doesn't necessarily need to be school related.
3) What were your biggest challenges during the semester (i.e. failures)? Are any of these barriers to your being A-G/College eligible?
4) What needs to be your focus for second semester? What do you need to do to make sure you finish high school strong and are ready for the next step in your life?

To complete this assignment, please create an account on California Colleges (if you do not already have one).

First you will need to go to the "College" tab and locate the "Major Research Tool" to locate your major and potential careers for your major.

Once you have selected your major, go to the "Career" tab and locate "Career Search Tool" to find your chosen career. Here you will find averages salaries, job prospects, and degrees associated with the field.

Use this information to complete the assignment below.

Take a screenshot and attach one of the following.

Option 1: Email two teacher/admin/counselor/coaches you want to use for EOP recommendations (if you qualify). Tell them you do not need a letter, but that they will be filling out a form sent to them by CSU due on Dec. 1st. Attach your brag sheet.
Option 2: Email me about class you need to focus on or are nervous about from a  professional personal email (not PYLUSD). Introduce yourself and share your plan for success.

Please create a Google Slides that has four total slides listing 4 universities you plan to apply to. These may include CSUs, UCs, and/or privates. You may of course apply to MORE than 4. Each slide must contain:

1) A picture of the school
2) The name of the school
3) Whether the school is a reach, goal, or safety school
4) The major you intend to apply to at the school (be sure to check if the school actually has that major)

Below are some resources to help you make you decisions.

On a separate Google Doc, please answer the EOP Personal Insight Questions. Responses should be detailed and use academic grammar and structure. I have also attached the 2023-24 income guidelines for your reference.

Here are the questions:
Briefly describe your family's economic background. Include information about your financial challenges. Why would you like to attend college? 

Discuss your career and personal goals. Are there any particular circumstances, school experiences, or persons that influenced your preparation or motivation to attend college (e.g., cultural/financial background, family, teachers, schools you attended)? Please explain.

Briefly discuss your academic background. Did you utilize any additional support at your high school, such as tutoring? Do your grades in high school and/or college reflect your academic ability or potential?

List any volunteer, extracurricular activities, or work experience in which you are or have been involved in the past two years.

Is there any additional information you would like EOP to consider in determining your admission to the program?

Submit evidence of completion of at least one of scholarships or university applications listed on the attached slide.
