Valencia High School Academic Decathlon Team Dominates the 2014 OCAD!

Congratulations to the Valencia High School Academic Decathlon Team who placed 1st in the county in Division 1 for overall team, and 1st in the county for Super Quiz. This is the third time Valencia has won the county competition in the last 6 years and the 6th year in a row they have qualified for the state competition. The team earned an amazing 78 individual medals. In addition, 9 Tigers placed in the county. In the Honors category, Brian Chu placed 2nd, Allie Guerrero placed 4th, and Joseph Yen placed 7th. In the Scholastic category, Billy Fletes placed 2nd, Alex Vargas placed 4th, and Collin Amano placed 5th. Finally, in the Varsity category, Maddy Rychlik placed 2nd and Brisa Cepeda placed 4th. A special congratulations goes to Deszra Shariff who placed 1st in the Scholastic category. Way to go Tigers! Team members include Collin Amano, Brisa Cepeda, Brian Chu, Billy Fletes, Allie Guerrero, Allison Kim, Benjamin Liu, Maddy Rychlik, Millie Savalia, Deszra Shariff, Alex Vargas, and Joseph Yen. The team is coached by Mr. Jenkins, Mr. Myovich, Mrs. Connor, Mrs. Foote, and Mrs. Kerby.
