Health Content Standards
 
Standard 1
Students will comprehend concepts related to positive health decisions.
Performance Indicators:
Students will:
  • 1.1 Analyze how behavior may affect personal health.
  • 1.2 Analyze how the family, peers, and community influence personal health.
  • 1.3 Analyze ways of delaying and reducing risks of potential health problems.
Standard 2
Students will demonstrate the ability to practice health-enhancing behaviors.
Performance Indicators:
Students will:
  • 2.1 Analyze the role of individual responsibility for enhancing behavior.
  • 2.2 Analyze the consequences of safe and risky behaviors.
  • 2.3 Analyze ways to reduce threatening situations.
Standard 3
Students will demonstrate the ability to use interpersonal communication skills to enhance health.
Performance Indicators:
Students will:
  • 3.1 Analyze how interpersonal communication affects relationships
  • 3.2 Analyze refusal skills to avoid harmful situations.
Standard 4
Students will demonstrate the ability to use goal setting and decision-making skills to enhance personal health.
Performance Indicators:
Students will:
  • 4.1 Analyze various strategies on how to make a decision related to the health needs and risks to an individual
  • 4.2 Implement a plan for attaining a personal goal.
