Students who are applying or planning to apply to a four-year university are highly encouraged to take the PSAT/SAT or ACT before their senior year and again during their senior year.

Will be held at VHS Saturday, October 13, 2018.  Students need to arrive by 7:30am with a Photo ID, Calculator, and #2 Pencils.

Students can register for the SAT at Students can register for the ACT at Remember to register early before the deadline in order to claim a seat. If students do not register early, all spots may be filled or the test may have to be taken at a location in a different city.

Fee Waivers:

SAT/ACT fee waivers are available to help pay for test registration fees. If you qualify for Free and Reduced Lunch, you are eligible for a fee waiver. The SAT fee waiver is good for two SAT tests and two SAT Subject tests. The ACT fee waiver covers two ACT tests. Please see Mrs. Hughes in the College and Career Center if you need a fee waiver.

Sending your scores:

Most universities require students to send their scores. Scores are to be sent via their SAT/ACT accounts mentioned above. If students are eligible for a fee waiver, they may send up to four free score reports on the SAT and ACT to the college of their choice.

The SAT tests students in critical reading, math, and writing in order to measure general verbal quantitative reasoning skills. The ACT tests students' overall high school academic achievement in the subjects: English, mathematics, science and reading.
