I am a proud Valencia graduate--class of 1986. During my years at Valencia I was a "band-o" all four years. I played in band with the flute, tympanis, and xylophone and marched with colorguard as a rifle and the majorette. Academically I was an honors student yet still found time to be a part of ASB and Valencia cheer as a songleader. I definitely believe in being involved in school activities.
After graduating from Valencia, I attended several colleges (UCDavis, UCRiverside, Fullerton College, Cal Poly Pomona) but finally finished at Cal State Fullerton. After going through several majors, I realized that I should pursue my true love--mathematics. I graduated from CSUF with a Bachelor's of Arts in Mathematics. I continued at CSUF into the master's program concurrently with the teacher credential program and currently hold a California Clear Teaching Credential in Mathematics. I finally completed my Master's degree at Concordia University.
When I decided to pursue mathematics and become a teacher there was never a question in my mind that I would come back to teach and give back to the school that had given me so much academically. I am proud to have been back as a Valencia High School teacher for 30 years. The past nineteen years have brought the added privilege of being the Math Department Chair.
I absolutely love math and hope to share that with my students. I have taught Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 1A, Algebra 1B, Geometry, Algebra 2 and Trig/Math Analysis. I currently teach PreCalculus Honors and IB Math SL/HLY1 course. I enjoy both of these courses and the students that I have the privilege of being a part of their educational careers.
I look forward to another great year! Go Tigers!
