OCAD Places 1st in the County in Division 1 and 1st in Super Quiz

Congratulations to the Valencia High School Academic Decathlon Team who placed 1st in the county in Division 1 and 1st in Super Quiz.  This is the third time that Valencia has won the county competition in the last six years and is the 6th year in a row Valencia has qualified for the state competition.  The team earned an amazing 78 individual medals.  In addition, 9 Tigers placed in the county.  In the Honors Category, Brian Chu placed 2nd, Allie Guerrero placed 4th, and Joseph Yen placed 7th.  In the Scholastic Category, Billy Fletes placed 2nd, Alex Vargas placed 4th, and Collin Amano placed 5th.  In the Varsity Category, Maddy Rychlik placed 2nd and Brisa Cepeda placed 4th.  A special congratulations goes to Deszra Shariff who place 1st in the Scholastic Category.  Way to go, Tigers!

The team members include Collin Amano, Brisa Cepeda, Brian Chu, Billy Fletes, Allie Guerrero, Allison Kim, Benjamin Liu, Maddy Rychlik, Millie Savalia, Deszra Shariff, Alex Vargas, and Joseph Yen.  The team is coached by Fred Jenkins, Danielle Connor, Mindi Foote, Kay Kerby, and Sam Myovich.
