Using the attached google doc, complete research on your photo essay topic. Be detailed and specific. You should have the following on the document: 

detailed and specific research on the topic of photo essay. Include ideas such as: what is a photo essay? How do photographers tell a story with a single and group of photographs? What makes a photo essay, a photo essay? How is a photo essay different than other photographs? 
Outline a topic you will use to guide your photo essay work. Be detailed and specific. 
Included a minim of 6 sample photographs for your photographing list. Be detailed in your descriptions. This photographing list will help you plan out the photographs you will make for this project. 

Create a google slide deck to turn in your images. You will have a total of 5 slides in your portfolio. Please follow the format below: 

Slide 1 = Title slide including the following: Name, Period, Title of portfolio
Slide 2-5 = image slides. Only include 1 image per slide. Also include a short description of the two techniques you used in that photo. Your description should outline how you utilized the technique and how it was successful. Think of it like a min critique.

Original Directions: From the list below, pick 2 or more techniques to use in your set of photos. Each photo you create must utilize a minimum of 2 composition techniques. You may use the same 2 techniques for each of the 4 images or you use different combinations for each photo.

Produce 4 total photographs that represent the use of the compositional technique "isolate your subject". The following should be followed:

Each should use a different way to "isolate" the subject

Attache your google doc for critiquing to this assignment. 
To critique-  pick your best example of "foreground interest and depth". Upload the "original" version to the critique doc and then open it in photoshop or pixlr to draw lines on it. 
When drawing lines on the image, outline the following aspects: 

Circle the "foreground interest" subject 
Draw a line that divides the foreground and middleground
Draw a line that divides the middleground and background 

When you have drawn your lines on your image, save it and upload to the right side of the critiquing document. Once this is complete, critique the image using the outlined critiquing points.

Using the attached google doc. Select two of your best images that represent the "fill the frame" compostion technique. Then critique those images using the outlined points in the table below.

Create 4 unique and different photographs that represent the composition technique, "Foreground Interest and Depth".

Using the attached google doc, complete your critique. You only need to choose one (1) image to critique for this assignment (please pick the best example of the composition technique.)
Be detailed in your written critique.... "It looks good" is not enough. You need to provided examples to back up your claims and ideas.

This project requires you to utilize the composition technique "fill the frame" where you focus on the "unnoticed" details of a specific subject.
Project Requirements:

** each photo must be unique and different (different subjects)
** Full color edits on all images (Levels, Brightness and Contrast, Color Balance, Curves, Clone Stamp etc.)

(A minimum of 1 photograph for each of the 3 types of symmetry)
(The last 3 photographs can be of your choice of symmetry; you may split them up how you would like)
