SCOTUS Case Presentation in Google Classroom

SCOTUS Case Presentation

You will be presenting your case to the class tomorrow. At the start of your presentation, I will play your Flipgrid with your background information. Then you will present the case, beginning with the Constitutional Question.

Your presentation can be in the form of a Power Point Presentation, Google Slides, or a Prezi Presentation.

Your presentation will begin with a visual representation which you will use to explain the Constitutional Question. This can be an image, a meme, a picture, or a drawing.

Your presentation will explain the decision of the Supreme Court, including an explanation of their Constitutional justification.

Your presentation will include an explanation of any concurring opinions, if applicable.

Your presentation will include an explanation of any dissenting opinions, if applicable.

Your presentation will include an opinion from each of the members of your group about whether they agree or disagree with the Supreme Court's Constitutional reasoning, and why.

You should be prepared to answer any questions about the case. Your classmates will have one minute at the end of your presentation to ask questions about your case.

After each case is presented, your classmates will be completing a Google form for each case analyzing the explanation of the case. They will also be taking notes as you present.

Due:

SCOTUS Case Presentation - Background in Google Classroom

SCOTUS Case Presentation - Background

For your case presentation, you will be explaining the background of your case by creating a Flipgrid. Your Flipgrid should be no more than 2 minutes long. Some cases will only take about 30 seconds to explain, while others will take the entire 2 minutes. Be sure to explain the events that took place, as well as the entire legal course of action of the case before it made it to the Supreme Court. Your background should NOT include the Constitutional Question at hand, or the decision of the Supreme Court. Those elements will be included in the rest of your presentation.

Only one Flipgrid must be completed per case, so if you are working with multiple people, use class today to figure out who will be recording the Flipgrid. Your Flipgrid must be done before the end of the day. You will have class time to work on it. It is a public Flipgrid, so it will be viewable by your classmates.

Once the Flipgrids have been posted, each person must comment on at least two Flipgrids. You cannot comment on your own Flipgrid, or the Flipgrid from your group. Your comment should be; a question about the background; a analysis of how the case background is similar to your own; or an analysis of how the case background is different from your own.

Comments are due by the end of the day tomorrow, 12/1
