Lang Art 3 - 4th Period-100_4079 Assignments

If you haven't submitted a written speech when you present, you will receive a 0 on this assignment.

You need to find AND ANNOTATE a credible article on your topic. Copy and paste it into a google doc or other suitable format and include WRITTEN ANNOTATIONS.  Highlighting is not enough - I need to see written comments linking to your speech.

Guidlines
1. Needs to include information that SUPPORTS your persuasive topic.
2. Should be a credible, WRITTEN article.  No YouTube, social media, etc.
3. The source of the article should be included in the text.  For example, if you found it on the AP Newswire, include the web link somewhere in your document.  If I can't find this article on the internet, you will receive a 0 for this assignment.

You will answer two questions

1)Is this couple from the play (teacher will provide the couple) in a good romantic relationship?  Why or why not?  Must provide evidence from play AND be able to link to our readings, discussions, etc.

2)Discuss a real-life good romantic relationship of someone you know.  What makes it good?  Must provide real examples and discuss using ideas from TED talks, readings, discussions, etc.

You will be answering 2 questions in a one on one setting with me.  For each question you should give as complete an answer as possible.  Include ideas from the reading, the reading questions, class discussions, etc.  You want to make it clear you have read and understood and paid attention all unit.

If you receive a question you have no idea how to answer, you will receive one pass.  But you must answer 2 of the potential 3 questions.

You will attach your slides presentation here - only one person needs to turn it in, but make sure all group members have their name on it


It needs to include the following...
1)Brief bio of steps to the person’s success
2)What they achieved (accomplishments, financial success, etc.)
3)What their downfall/scandal was - where it currently stands
4)Images of the person



*It can also include...
1)Reasons why it was worth it for this person
2)Reasons why it wasn't worth it

*These last two aren't required for the slides presentation and can just be shared out loud during the oral presentations.  If you are going to include them in your slides presentation, the speakers should be responsible for putting together the info*

Each member of your group should submit this assignment so I know you all have access to the same information.  All 3 or 4 members can have the exact same document.

This needs to be finished by the time you leave class on Friday.  You can turn it in before then if your group already knows who is doing what.

1.Read and annotate the article (you need to include written comments using the comment feature in Google Docs - just like we did 1st semester)
2.Answer the reading questions that follow the article

3) Needs to be final draft quality (free of grammatical errors, etc.)
4) Graphic Organizer is optional

HINTS
1)Even though I'm not going to grade your graphic organizer, it will REALLY help you write the completed essay
2)To this end, if you ask for help, the first thing I will want to look at is your graphic organizer
3)Go back through and use your previous work.  This will help you find quotes and ideas for each text
4)ASK FOR HELP - I am happy to help with any part of this essay, you just need to ask!  We're working on it all week in class.  Use your time productively!
