The following link is a copy of the novel we are reading in class, The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fist Fight in Heaven. It is a collection of short stories, or vignettes, about Native American life in and around the Spokane Indian Reservation.
Questions to think about as you read:
"EVERY LITTLE HURRICANE"
- What does the hurricane represent?
- Why are Victor's uncles always fighting?
- What is Victor's relationship with his parents?
- What is the significance of the following quote: "Victor imagined that he held an empty box beneath his father's eyes and collected the tears, held that box unitl it was full. Victor would wrap it up...and give it to his mother" (Alexie 5).
- What does the following quote reveal about Victor's father: "During those long drinks, Victor's father wasn't shaped like a question mark. He looked more like an exclamation point" (Alexie 6).
