Course Description

IBHL World Literature Papers 1 and 2
 
World Literature Paper 1 must be a compare and contrast paper using at least two of the following novels.
 
The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende
Pedro Paramo by Juan Rulfo
One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez
 
World Literature Paper 2 has many options (a) a compare and contrast (b) a creative assignment or (c) a passage analysis, commentary, or regular literary essay; however, it must be written on one or more of the following works that you didn’t use for paper 1.
 
“Master Harold”… and the boys by Athol Fugard
The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende
Pedro Paramo by Juan Rulfo
One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez
The Stranger by Albert Camus
 
No novel may be used twice!
 
Each paper must have a word count between 1,000 and 1,500.
  
Papers must be formatted using MLA style with the heading formatted as follows...
 
Name
Candidate Number
Assignment Name with Number and Option Letter (for paper 2a, b or c)
 
Additionally, both papers must include the candidate number, last name and page number on each page (in that order in the upper right).

Moreover, each paper must include the word count (between 1000-1500 words) listed immediately after the concluding paragraph: double space and paste word count as follows.
