This course covers a broad range of accounting principals. It includes instruction in special journals, posting, trial balancing, work sheets, financial statements, adjustments, and closing ledgers. Students are introduced to computerized accounting. This course is highly recommended for students who are training for many of the business occupations as well as students planning on becoming accounting or business majors at the college level. (Satisfies one year of mathematics or elective requirement).

Grading Procedures:

The grading scale is based on points. Points are earned by completing assigned work and by taking tests and quizzes. The points earned by a student are divided by the total number of points possible. The percentage scale used is:

90-100%=A

80-89%=B

70-79%=C

60-69%=D

Below 60% is not a passing grade.

 

Points are awarded as follows:

Tests- 50 points

Homework- 50 points

Computer and other various projects - TBA

 

Homework policy: Homework will be assigned every day and is worth 50 points for each completed packet. If homework is turned in late a 10-point deduction will be made for every day it is late with a maximum of 20 points taken off. If you are absent for an assignment you will have the amount of days you were absent to make up the work without a penalty.

Make-ups: If you are absent the day of a quiz or test you must make it up on your own time see me to make and appointment. If you return from an illness on the day of a test you will be responsible for taking that test unless you missed more than 2 days.
