Photography: Trad & Dig-Period 6 - Riggs Assignments

Conduct some online research on the 3 elements of photography and their relationship to each other.
**Using google slides creates a presentation that breaks down each of the 3 elements of exposure and explains how the element controls exposure in photography.
**Use 1 slide for each of the Elements
**At the end, use 1 slide to outline a conclusion that talks about how the 3 elements work together to produce an image.
In the end you should have a total of 5 slides (1 intro slide, 3 slides for the elements of exposure and 1 conclusion slide). Use visuals you find online to enhance your presentation.

You can use the infographic you created a few weeks ago as a jumping off point. Make sure you use visual examples of each element from your own image library (They can be image you already turned in, extra images or new images you take for this project. the rule is they have to be your images and have to be taken this year.)

Create a Google Slide presentation that outlines the Principles and Elements of design that we discussed over the past few weeks. You will need to include a short description of each principle and element and 1 example image that you took (you can pick from those that you turned in via google classroom or take new images). There is a blank google slides presentation attached to the google classroom assignment. At the end, create a conclusion slide that outlines the importance of these elements and principles of design as they relate to photography.

Elements of Design Lesson 3 (Color) Assignment Details:
PART 1- Create a photographic color wheel that represents primary and secondary colors.
** you will make a total of 6 photographs- one for each of the colors ( Blue, Violet, Red, Orange, Yellow, and Green). When you finish, create a new document in photoshop or pixlr and bring the images into it. You can line them up, put them in a circle or whatever format you wish.
You will save your file as (firstinitial_lastname_CW).
PART 2- Create a photograph that illustrates the use of color as an element of design (monochromatic, color blocking etc).

Design Lesson 3- Pattern & Repetition
Watch the attached video lecture on pattern & repetition and then make your own photographs that represent this principle of design. Principles of Design Lesson 1- Balance
Watch the attached video lecture on Balance and then make your own photographs that represent this principle of design.
Create 2 different examples of balance in photography. You may use your phone camera are a digital camera you have at home to photograph.

After watching the video, you are asked to photograph 3 different photographs that represent / show your understanding of Emphasis (or Dominance). This assignment will be focusing on color balance and creating a document with multiple images and text. Outlined below you will find the details of the assignment and a link to the video.
Pixlr Assignment 3 (Color Balance & Mulitple Image Document)
** Download the 3 jpeg images from google classroom (ColorBalance 1-3).
** Using the provided images and the Pixlr editor, color balance each so that you remove any unwanted color casts (image is too red, blue, yellow).
** Save each color corrected image for later.
** Create a new blank document in Pixlr.
** Add the 3 color corrected images to the blank document and the corresponding text.
** Save and upload your finished document to the google classroom assignment.

*** Download an image from your google drive that has areas that need to be removed (dust, spots etc.) and areas that could be brightened up and/or darkened down. (You may use black and white or color)
*** Open your image in Pixlr Editor
*** Use the Clone stamp to remove dust/spots
*** Use the Healing Brush to remove dust/spots
*** Add a new layer and use this layer to Dodge / Burn your image (lighten / darken)
