Course Description
Description of Course:
This introductory course in basic photography aligns with the California Visual and Performing Arts Standards for 9-12 grade. Students will learn the history behind the modern day photograph, will explore a variety of both traditional and digital photography techniques, and will learn about various influential photographers while studying the elements of art and principles of design.
Goals and Objectives:
* Students will know the major contributors to the art of Photography, and will know the basic history of the photographic process.
* Students will learn the science behind Photography.
* Students will leave this Photography course and know how to:
* Use Film and Digital SLR Cameras
* Create Photographs using dynamic compositions
* Develop 35mm film, and print images in the darkroom
* Use Photoshop to edit and create interesting photographs and designs
* Display photographs in a professional manner
