Chemistry (Period 1,4,5)

Course Description

Chemistry is a physical science but it also is a lab course so it meets letter D of the A-G requirements. Chemistry will explore the Periodic Table, the atom, reactions, states of matter, thermochemistry, electrochemistry, organic chemistry, and nuclear chemistry. Chemistry is a very rigorous class with high expectations that the students regularly meet. If a student is struggling, I encourage them to seek help as soon as possible. Don't wait because what you learn in the Fall you'll use all year long. You can expect an average of one lab per unit. I look forward to a great year together.

Welcome to 2nd Semester!

Welcome to Spring Semester! I'm looking forward to a fun filled, educational second semester. =)

Remainder of 1st semester

Good afternoon!

Here's a brief overview of the remainder of first semester.

Our test for Ch 14 is scheduled for Wednesday January 14. There is another lab for this unit as well, besides the one we did today, January 5, upon our return to school after Winter Break.

The 15, 16, and 20 are review days, with one of those days being a practice final. The Chem final is Wednesday January 21 for Periods 1 and 5 and Thursday January 22 for Period 4.

I will be available during my normal office hours (Mon/Weds 2:45-3:30 and Tues/Thurs 7:25-7:45).
