Art Fundamentals (Period 5)

This is an introduction to the visual arts. Students will design, research and create 4 -5 art works each semester based on the elements and principles of art & design. The students will work in different mediums such as: pencil, oil pastels, colored pencil, charcoal, watercolor, tempera paint and acrylic paint. Students will keep a sketchbook with their research, sketches, practice work and some of their final pieces. Enough time is provided in class for work, but if they are not finished they are expected to complete the daily task at home. This usually includes, sketches, taking photographs of things to draw, research and possibly completion of final.
