Leading health professionals from these organizations have dedicated their time to be actively involved throughout this course. Students learn and interact with a variety of medical professionals to understand the current un-met clinical needs, challenging today’s pediatric doctors and nurses.
Students work in groups to research and collaborate focusing on their innovation that addresses a real health issue facing children in Orange County. Student groups are then trained on visual and oral presentation skills.
With practice and feedback, students become co-producers and deliver their professional recorded pitch that details their innovation for the judges/mentors from CHOC and ULP. The course concludes after 11 weeks with an evening MIRE Dinner Reception where the winners are announced.
