Wellness
Valencia High School is committed to fostering student wellness in order to encourage opportunities for student success. Our wellness program provides resources and support to build the emotional, social, and relational capacity of students so that they are successful in school and life.
We have two Wellness Specialists, Ms. Brooklyn Ortega, and Ms. Cassidy Weiss, who provide mental health support to students and families. We are located in the Wellness Center in Room 901. This space is open before school, during break, and during lunch for students to engage in mindfulness activities.
Our Wellness Specialists support students who may be struggling with or at-risk of the following: stress or anxiety, grief and loss, thoughts of suicide, substance use, depression or feelings of sadness, issues with socialization, issues with family and/or peers, family changes, LGBTQ+ related concerns, and other mental health concerns. They provide check-ins, individual counseling, and group counseling here at VHS.
