Test
March 15
Chapter 12 Services test is graded and posted in Aeries.  Please remember that it was out of 80 points, not 100 so for example a 72 is an A- not a C-.  The high score was 77 so the curve was 3.  I will try to schedule a day to go over the test when we get back so please do not ask what you got wrong at this time. There will be no reading quiz for chapter 13, therefore no more reading quizzes for the rest of the semester.  I will make the adjustment (changing lowest score for highest) for those who had at least a 70% on at least one reading quiz at a later date. At this time I am planning on having both the vocab quiz and unit test for chapter 13, but not sure when yet.  Possible essay topics are: .The three models of urban structure (Concentric zone, Sector, Multiple Nuclei) p. 466-7, Social Challenges p488-9, Physical Challenges p489, The City Renewed - Gentrification p490.  Please read the ENTIRE chapter (it will be on the unit test) by Thursday March 19.  I would HIGHLY recommend that you take notes on important topics as you read.  I would also HIGHLY recommend that once you have finished this you compare your notes with another classmate and go over them together. If you do not wish to meet in person you can send a picture of your notes and communicate on facetime, etc.  More info will be posted this week.  Please keep checking in.  Remember - WHAT ARE YOU DOING FOR HUG TODAY?
P.S.
The pandemic we are currently going through is something we covered.  Chapter 2 Population, Epidemiologic Transition possible stage 5.  It is in your notes and p 70 in textbook.  HUG is everywhere.
March 19

At this time you should have finished reading and taking notes for Chapter 13.  Please compare these with a classmate. Next, please study the vocabulary list for this chapter.

Above you will find the powerpoint for Chapter 13.  Please use it for review AFTER you have read and taken your own notes for the chapter.

IMPORTANT NEW INFORMATION FROM COLLEGE BOARD  -
This morning, the AP college board just released new information.  First, testing will be done at home on your computer or smartphone.  This will comprise of a 45 minute online exam at home.  I am not sure at this time if there will be a writing component, multiple choice, or both. Apparently there will be two dates for you to choose from to take the exam.  I do not know the answer to these yet, but will let you know as soon as I find out.
Second, the exam will be modified in terms of content.  It will cover only chapters 1 - 9.Chapters 10 - 13 will NOT be on this years exam. This means that you may immediately STOP working on chapter 13.  We will not need to cover this material.  I realize many of you already put time into this, for that I am sorry. I had also been working on review materials for this chapter that I no longer need.  Again, this new information was just released today.
I do not know yet if  we will be able to have a final exam.  Right now that is something you do not need to worry about.  The priority is preparing for the AP exam.  We will start reviewing today.  For now, please read chapter 1 and go over the vocab list as well.  Much of this material should be familiar to you though I do not expect you to remember everything..  As you review, I would get your class notes out as well as a supplement.  I would recommend that you do not do the whole chapter at one time but instead break it down into smaller sections over a few days. You should finish this by Wed. March 25.  I will be posting more review plans for you on that date.  I am confident that if you put the time in and keep up with the review plan you will be prepared for the exam.  Please feel free to email me any questions you have.
