Congratulations to the Valencia High School Academic Decathlon Team. After taking 3rd place overall in the county competition, the team represented Orange County in the state competition held in Sacramento, March 19-March 22. The team finished 2nd in the state in Division 2 with 48,175.9 points and earned an amazing 14 individual medals. A special congratulations goes to Joyce Chew who placed 3rd in the state in the Honors category and Maddy Rychlik who placed 1st in the state in Varsity category. Congratulations to the Valencia Jazz Bands for Outstanding performances this weekend. On Saturday at the Irvine High School Jazz Festival the VHS Jazz Combo won the Advanced Combo division, both Jazz Band 1 and 2 took second place in the Intermediate and Advanced divisions, Valencia also won the outstanding Trumpet Section of the festival and Alex Flavell won the Outstanding Soloist Award of the overall festival.
Congrats to girls dance team! They just competed at CADTD STATE and won first place for large jazz!!! This team includes every member so it is extra special for us!
PCHS Summer School Portal Now Open The summer school portal for PCHS (college-prep, online courses) is now open. The following link contains more information on the application process. The deadline for incoming Academy students to turn in their PCHS Health applications is April 3rd. The deadline for current VHS students to turn in their PCHS applications is May 1st.
AP Exam Sales- Now through March 18th VHS students enrolled in AP classes can purchase their AP exams from February 17th-March 18th through the VHS webstore or the Finance Office on campus. Valencia High School does not administer AP exams to non-students.
VHS Band Performs well! Congratulations Valencia Jazz Bands! On Saturday the VHS Jazz Band 2 Won first place in the Intermediate Division, Jazz Combo Won first place Advanced Combo Division, and the Jazz Band 1 took 4th place over all in the Advanced Division. Way to Go Jazz Bands!
